Use cases
A Canva website looks great out of the box, but its native form options are basic. Embedding a Tally form lets you collect exactly the data you need, styled to match your site:
- Contact forms: Let visitors reach out without exposing your email address. Start from the contact form template.
- Client intake forms: Collect project details, timelines, and requirements before kicking off new work. Try the client intake form template.
- Event RSVPs and registrations: Gather attendee details for a launch, workshop, or wedding site built in Canva.
- Order and booking forms: Take orders or bookings directly from a Canva storefront or landing page, with payment collection built in.
- Feedback and surveys: Add a feedback form to a Canva portfolio or client-facing site to collect reviews and testimonials.
How to embed a Tally form on your Canva website
Step 1: Build and publish your form
Create a Tally form manually, with the help of AI or start from a template, then publish it from the editor.

Step 2: Copy your embed link
Open the
Share tab and choose Standard or Popup as your embed type. Adjust the embed options, like hiding the title or making the background transparent, then click Copy embed link.
Canva's Embed element works with a link, not a raw HTML snippet. Use
Copy embed link, not the HTML code option.Step 3: Add the Embed element in Canva
In your Canva website editor, click
Apps in the left sidebar, search for Embed.
Click
Embed and past your Tally embed link into the box and click Add to Design.
Step 4: Resize and publish
Drag the corners of the embed to resize it, position it on the page, then click
Publish website in the top right.
Canva shows a static preview of embeds while you're editing. Click
Preview or Present to test that your form is interactive, and check the live published page to confirm it works.Embedding a Tally form in a Canva Doc
You can also drop a Tally form into a Canva Doc, handy for internal wikis, proposals, or meeting notes. Open a Canva Doc, type
/embed, select Embed from the menu, and paste your Tally embed link.
Customizing your embedded form to match your brand
Before copying your embed link, use Tally's embed options to match your Canva site's look:
- Hide form title if your Canva page already has a heading.
- Transparent background to blend the form into your page design.
- Dynamic height so the embed resizes automatically as respondents move through the form.
For full brand control, Tally Pro lets you remove Tally branding and apply a custom domain to your embedded forms.
Troubleshooting
- Embed looks blank while editing: This is expected. Canva only renders embeds as interactive in Preview, Present, or the published site.
- Form doesn't match your site's colors: Adjust the embed options in Tally and copy the link again, style changes don't update automatically like content changes do.
- Embed link won't paste: Make sure you copied the embed link, not the HTML snippet, since Canva's Embed element only accepts links.
Frequently asked questions
Can I embed a form on Canva for free?
Yes. Both Tally and Canva's Embed element are free to use. You only need Tally Pro if you want extras like removing Tally branding or using a custom domain.
Does Canva support HTML forms?
Canva doesn't support pasting raw HTML into a design, but its Embed element accepts a form link and renders it as a live, interactive embed, which is how Tally forms are added.
What's the difference between Canva's native form and a Tally form?
Canva's built-in form element is only available on Canva Pro and offers limited field types and styling. A Tally form is free on any plan and supports conditional logic, file uploads, payments, and integrations.
Can I collect payments through a form embedded in Canva?
Yes. Add payment collection to your Tally form before publishing it, then embed it on Canva as usual.
Can I use the same Tally form in multiple Canva pages or designs?
Yes. Copy the same embed link into as many Embed elements as you like, all responses go to the same Tally form.
Will my Canva embed update if I edit my Tally form?
Content changes update automatically. If you change embed styles (like a transparent background), copy the embed link again and replace it in Canva.
