Tidal Ventures Marketing & PR Lead

Tidal Ventures is Australia’s leading seed-stage operator-led venture capital firm and our success stories include Search.io's acquisition by French-USA unicorn Algolia, Shippit, FrankieOne, and Sonder. Since launching Tidal Ventures, we have seen an overwhelming opportunity in the Australian market to back great founders with seed venture capital. In response, we are looking to build our team.

We are looking for a marketer and public relations lead with at least five years of experience in a professional position. This role will report to the Head of Investor Relations.

You are immersed in the technology startup ecosystem and driven to promote Tidal Ventures and share our portfolio companies’ successes. We look forward to hearing how you work with the press and are able to meet tight deadlines.

Here are some of the qualities you will need to demonstrate to be successful at Tidal in the role of Marketing Lead:

Experience in planning and delivering media relations strategies and marketing communications plans for technology startup stakeholders
Writing skills that enable you to move effortlessly from composing a compelling press release to engaging tech founders via social media posts. You have both a keen eye for detail and the ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to organise events from the initial planning through to execution
As a relationship builder, you use your initiative and startup ecosystem knowledge to strategically develop and nurture relationships.
Enjoy working in a hybrid in-office / remote, autonomous environment. You're a self-starter and task-oriented finisher and have a strong ownership mentality. Tidal Ventures Office is located in Sydney.

What to expect from the role:

Tidal is a fast-growing venture capital firm, our Marketing & PR Lead will be instrumental to our continued growth as we share successes from our Seed Fund I and Seed Fund II, and make our Seed III investments. Your responsibilities will include:

Media Relations: you will own Tidal’s press relations from end to end. Generating story ideas and writing press releases to actively promote our Tidal Ventures brand and our portfolio companies’ news.

Communications: you will increase awareness about Tidal Ventures as a venture firm through thought leadership content and promote Tidal Ventures activities via social media and Tidal’s monthly newsletter.

Events: you will initiate and execute outcome-driven events for Tidal to engage with founders and investors, and contribute to building the Australian start-up ecosystem. Some travel across Australia may be required.

Whilst we will consider applications from any Australian resident for work purposes, you must have the ability to work physically in our Sydney office. We have a hybrid in-person / remote working culture.
