2026 Volunteer Coordinator Application

We're looking for a self-motivated, organized and people driven Volunteer Coordinator to help manage volunteers for Dancing in the Streets.

This role is key to making our events run smoothly and ensuring every volunteer has a great experience from start to finish.

RESPONSIBILITIES

PRE-EVENT (NOW THROUGH JULY 9)

- Recruit and schedule volunteers for MidTown farmers markets and community activations leading up to Dancing in the Streets, these events are used to promote DITS and collect donations
-A list of dates will be provided, shifts only run if enough volunteers are confirmed (you can see the list on the volunteer application (https://tally.so/r/vGBeKv)
- Your job is coordinating with the volunteers, you do not need to be present at these shifts

GLOWING IN THE STREETS & DANCING IN THE STREETS (July 10–11)

- Recruit volunteers for Glowing in the Streets (July 10) and Dancing in the Streets (July 11)
- Manage all volunteer communications leading up to both events
- Develop and execute a volunteer training plan
- Conduct volunteer training sessions (virtual or in-person)
- Create and organize volunteer bins: badges, assignments, printed materials and supplies
- Assign volunteer roles and build out schedules for both event days
- Attend committee meetings with event leadership leading up to the event
- Oversee all volunteers on site at Glowing in the Streets (July 10)
- Oversee all volunteers on-site at Dancing in the Streets (July 11) from setup through breakdown
- Manage volunteer check-in and confirm assignments on both event days
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all volunteers
- Troubleshoot staffing gaps and issues in real time
AFTER EVENT
- Send volunteer feedback survey
- Plan and attend volunteer appreciation party (normally in August)

COMPENSATION

Total compensation is $2,000, paid in monthly installments via direct deposit from MidTown Reno. Agreement term runs through August 2026.
This is an independent contractor engagement. You are responsible for applicable taxes and expenses unless otherwise agreed in writing.
