ClearlyMusical Teacher Terms of Service

By clicking on Submit, you agree to the following terms. These terms explain how things work for teachers using our platform to connect with students for online music lessons. We've kept everything friendly and simple so you know what to expect.

By signing up as a teacher, you agree to these terms.

1. What ClearlyMusical Is

ClearlyMusical is an online marketplace that helps music teachers and students connect for live, online lessons.

We’re not a school, agency, or employer — we just provide the tools for you to promote your services, manage bookings, and get paid.

You are an independent teacher running your own business.

2. Who Can Teach on ClearlyMusical

To join as a teacher, you must:

* Be 18 years or older.

* Be legally allowed to offer lessons in your country.

* Be able to teach online using a video platform like Zoom, Skype, Google Meet, or similar.

3. Your Teacher Profile

When you sign up:

* You'll create a public profile showing your experience, pricing, and availability.

* You’re responsible for keeping your information accurate and up to date.

* You’ll need a PayPal account to receive payments.

4. Online Lessons Only

All lessons on ClearlyMusical must be taught online.

You and your student can agree together on the video platform you’ll use — such as Zoom, Skype, Google Meet, or another reliable option.

Make sure:

* The platform is accessible for both you and the student.

* You share connection details clearly and securely.

* The setup is professional and suitable for music instruction.

5. Payments and Commission

* Students pay ClearlyMusical for lessons through PayPal.

* We deduct a 12% platform fee from each payment.

* You receive the remaining 88% via PayPal, typically within 5–7 business days after the lesson is completed.

Example:

If your lesson price is $50, we take $6 (12%), and you receive $44.

PayPal may charge a fee on your end — we don’t control those.

6. Cancellations and Refunds

You can set your own cancellation policy on your profile. If you don’t set one, the default is:

* Students can cancel up to 24 hours before a lesson for a full refund.

* Late cancellations or no-shows may be charged in full.

If there’s a serious issue (like technical failures or a missed lesson), ClearlyMusical may step in to issue a refund or credit at our discretion.

7. Your Responsibilities

As a ClearlyMusical teacher, you agree to:

* Be respectful, professional, and responsive.

* Deliver high-quality online lessons at the scheduled time.

* Only accept bookings and payments through ClearlyMusical.

* Not encourage students to move off the platform for future bookings or payments.

8. Taxes & Legal Obligations

You’re responsible for your own taxes — including income tax, VAT, or anything else based on your location.

We don’t provide tax advice, so please check with a local tax advisor if you're unsure.

9. Respectful Use

To keep ClearlyMusical safe and welcoming, teachers must not:

* Misrepresent their skills or experience.

* Harass, threaten, or behave inappropriately toward students.

* Share student contact or personal information without consent.

* Bypass our payment system or fees.

Violations may result in your account being suspended or removed.

10. Your Content & Promotion

You keep the rights to your lesson materials and content.

ClearlyMusical may feature your profile or photo to promote the platform (for example, on our homepage or social media), but only in a respectful and positive way.

11. Limitations & Liability

We aim to make ClearlyMusical reliable, but:

* We can’t guarantee bookings, earnings, or technical performance of external platforms (like Zoom).

* We're not responsible for lesson quality or student behavior.

* If problems arise, we’ll do our best to help — but we can’t promise to resolve every issue.

12. Closing or Suspending Accounts

You can close your account anytime.

We may suspend or remove accounts for:

* Breaking these terms.

* Repeated complaints or no-shows.

* Attempting to take students off the platform.

13. Privacy and Data

We follow GDPR (for EU users) and other global privacy laws. See our privacy policy here.

You agree to protect any student info you receive and only use it for lesson-related communication.

14. Governing Law

These terms apply worldwide. If there's ever a legal issue, we’ll follow the laws of Canada, unless local law requires something else.

15. Updates to These Terms

We may update these terms occasionally. If we do, we’ll let you know.

Continuing to use ClearlyMusical means you agree to the latest version.
