Film Fundamentals workshop is also suitable for those with past experience who want to brush up on skills and reignite their creative spark ✨ To ensure a focused, hands-on learning experience, group workshops are limited to 5 participants.

Here's the plan We'll meet at a cafe for an introduction and dive into photography basics with a focus on the analog process — lighting, composition, manual camera settings, and how to load 35mm film. Then, it's time to get creative! Enjoy the hands-on learning experience during our guided photowalk through Amsterdam's iconic Jordaan neighborhood.  📒 You'll also receive a custom workbook with creative prompts to continue your analog photography practice.

Meet your instructor

Lily is a travel writer and photographer with over 20 years of experience shooting film. Her work has been published in Lonely Planet, Fodor's Guidebooks, iAmsterdam, Tripadvisor, and more. She also teaches workshops at Doka107, a film photography collective and darkroom studio in Amsterdam.

Passionate about helping others fall in love with the art of film photography, Lily shares creative inspiration, analog adventures, and tips for visual storytelling on her blog and YouTube channel.

Classic SLR models are available to rent (Canon A1 or Canon AE-1) and include a roll of 35mm film *€100 refundable deposit required for all rental
