Know Your Normal: More Than a Self-Check

Understanding Breast Health, Imaging & Self-Advocacy

A Breast Cancer Awareness Month Conversation With

Saira Hayse, M.Ed. & Vicky Nguyen, M.D.

We’d love for you to join us for a conversation about breast health, self-awareness, imaging, and advocating for yourself in the healthcare system.

We’re both alumnae of the alpha Kappa Delta Phi Sigma Chapter, and we’re coming to this conversation from two complementary perspectives: Saira as a current breast cancer patient and Vicky as a physician specializing in breast imaging.

Know Your Normal: More Than a Self-Check

Save the Date: Oct 14 at 8 pm EST / 7 pm CST Hosted virtually via Google Meet Access Event Link

Know Your Normal: More Than a Self-Check grew from our belief that breast health involves much more than looking for, or being able to feel, a lump.

Through personal experience, medical education, and conversation, we’ll talk about breast self-awareness, imaging and screening, and ways women can feel more confident asking questions and advocating for their health.

At the heart of our conversation is one simple message:

You don’t have to be a medical expert to advocate for your health.

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and our shared aKDPhi community, we’ll also be encouraging donations of any size to the alpha Kappa Delta Phi Foundation Breast Cancer Awareness Grant.

Pre-Registration

We’d love to know a little about who will be joining us. Sharing your questions and what you hope to learn will help us shape the conversation around what is most meaningful to our audience.

If you aren’t able to join us live, pre-register anyway: we’ll send the recording afterward. And because Saira is currently in active chemotherapy, pre-registering also allows us to contact you in the unlikely event that a medical issue requires us to postpone and reschedule the conversation.
