haVoila Studio beta: three URP assets before launch
About 10 minutes for one asset, 12 for two, 14 for all three. You don't need your project open: rough answers and "Not sure" are fine. Questions marked * are required. To take part you must be 18 or older and have a Discord account: the betas run on our Discord.
haVoila Studio (havoila.com) makes Unity assets for URP. Three are nearly ready for the Asset Store, and before they go there we want to see them on projects and machines we don't have. Pick one, two or all three: we choose testers for each asset separately.
All three need Unity 6.3 or newer with URP, and a GPU with compute shaders. In version 1 none of them supports the Built-in pipeline, mobile, Quest standalone or the web. We've tested on Windows: macOS and Linux are welcome, but you may hit problems first.
Drop-In Terrain Renderer draws a Unity Terrain's trees and grass on the GPU, from the terrain's own data (not mesh terrains). Remove it and Unity draws them again. Minimum, about 1 to 2 hours: two runs of its built-in benchmark (a standard size, then your own settings), in a development build of your scene.
Drop-In Sky & Weather — Realistic URP System: a physically based sky with volumetric clouds, rain, snow, lightning and the real sun, moon and stars. The camera stays below the clouds. Minimum, about 1 to 2 hours: the sky in one of your scenes, with screenshots and two short Unity Profiler captures of a development build (a standard size, then your own settings).
Drop-In Water — Realistic URP System: oceans to the horizon, lakes and rivers, shorelines baked from your terrain, underwater views, floating objects and water queries for gameplay. No VR. Minimum, about 2 to 3 hours: an Ocean, a Lake or a River in one of your scenes (a River digs its bed into your terrain), with screenshots and two short Profiler captures of a development build (a standard size, then your own settings).
Each minimum is done in a copy of your project, plus your build time. The betas are staggered: Sky & Weather and Water start first, the Terrain Renderer once its new demo is ready; we email you the dates before yours starts. Each ends with a short survey. Bug reports, clips and repro projects are welcome on top.
What you get, per asset: the package before launch; its private beta channels on the haVoila Studio Discord, where we look into what breaks in your scene before launch; credit in its documentation and changelog if you want it.
Licenses at launch: The Asset Store allows us 16 free licenses per asset per year; up to 10 of each asset's go to its most active testers, chosen by contribution (reports, benchmark/profiler runs, repro projects), never by whether or what you review. The license never depends on a review. After launch, if you found it useful, we invite you to leave an honest review and mention you were a beta tester (and got a free license, if you did).
How we choose: for coverage, not first come, first served: 15 to 30 testers per asset, with a spread of GPUs (AMD and Intel especially), graphics APIs, Unity versions, render paths, platforms and content. An unusual setup counts in your favour. Everyone gets an answer before the beta they applied for starts.
A handle is fine. If you ask for credit, this is the name we use.
We send our answer here and, if you're picked, your invite to the beta channels.
The betas run on our Discord. Your username, not your display name: in Discord, User Settings (the cog at the bottom left) > My Account > Username. No account yet? Make one at discord.com, then come back.
