Artivism Workshop: Global Ocean Conservation

Sign up for the Artivism Workshop on Global Ocean Conservation here!

About the Event

The Artivism Workshop on Global Ocean Conservation platforms creativity and international environmental protections. Participants will learn about the High Seas Treaty and create a collage from repurposed materials to send a message to world leaders urging them to put the High Seas Treaty into action and help marine life!
What is the High Seas Treaty?
The High Seas Treaty is a law currently ratified by over one hundred countries to protect the biodiversity of international waters (comprising over half of the planet's surface) outside the jurisdiction of individual nations. Implementation will be more successful with the support of more countries!
How can art make a difference?
Art has been used in social movements across history to advance social and environmental justice. "Artivism" defines this form of artistic expression!
Collages participants create at this workshop may be may be included in a digital gallery shared with decision makers or displayed at major ocean gatherings, including the first Conference of the Parties for the High Seas Treaty in New York City and The Ocean Race events in 2027.
