Welcome to the Ethiclear application form. Thank you very much for your interest in Ethiclear.
This form will walk you through the application process, and will ask you about yourself and your organisation and some key facts about your project. It will also ask you to upload a number of documents related to your project. You can find out more about the types of documents ("Core" and "Additional") that will be required on our website:

Our review process is split into two segments: a "Pre-Review" (which will highlight any key issues or missing components with your application) and "Full Review" (in which the project is fully reviewed by our committee). There is no obligation to proceed to Full Review after the Pre-Review step. If this is a new application, you will initially go through the Pre-Review step. The prices for these review steps are shown on our website.
Note that Ethiclear is an independent ethical review board, and cannot review projects where NHS REC is required.
Like all ethical review boards, Ethiclear looks to provide an ethical opinion (not "approval"). However, this is often what people mean when they refer to "ethical approval".
In order to conduct a review of your project, Seastorm Limited (providing the Ethiclear service) will securely and confidentially process and store the information you provide. This includes passing relevant information onto our independent committee members. All committee members are research and/or industry professionals, are appropriately trained in GCP and GDPR practices, and are bound by NDAs and other legal agreements.
We use Tally (this website) to power our application form. As a result, Tally will also securely process your data (including Personal Data) in order for us to collect the necessary information from you to perform a review of your project. Tally is headquartered in Belgium and processes data within the EU.
