Submit a story idea

The Centurion welcomes story ideas on any subject for both print and online publication. Please send a brief pitch describing your idea, why it matters, and how you would approach it.
Pitches are typically strongest when they are concise and specific. A few short paragraphs are usually enough; include a working headline or angle if you have one, and mention the format you envision for the piece.
Whether a story is a fit depends on factors like available space, originality, relevance, and audience interest. You do not need specialized expertise for your article to be considered, but it helps to explain why your piece matters.
We aim to review submissions as quickly as possible and will try to respond within about a week. If you do not hear back after a week, please assume we are unable to move forward with the idea.
The easiest way to send your pitch is through the form below. This form is for story ideas only; if you have a finished article, please use the article submission form instead.
Letters to the editor should be emailed to eli.sachs@wheelergmail.org.
