Adventure in the Western Desert | 11–19 December 🌙
A journey into silence, space, and reconnection
For seven full days, we travel deep into Egypt's Western Desert — a vast, untouched expanse where time slows and the noise of the world fades. Moving between Bahariya and Dakhla Oasis, this journey unfolds through surreal landscapes of white chalk formations, golden dunes, and ancient sea valleys shaped by wind and light.
Here, there is nothing to hold onto — and that is the gift. In the absence of distractions, the mind softens, the senses awaken, and a natural state of presence emerges.
Bahariya Oasis 🌴
Our gateway to the desert. Surrounded by palm groves and natural springs, Bahariya marks the transition from cultivated land to vast emptiness — a gentle landing before we journey deeper into the silence.
Abu Mahraj Desert 🌾
A remote and rarely visited expanse where the horizon feels infinite. Here the rhythm of retreat truly begins — moving off-road, away from any trace of modern life, into pure quiet and space.
White Desert National Park 🤍
An otherworldly landscape of wind-sculpted chalk formations shaped into surreal figures resembling mushrooms, towers, and frozen clouds. At sunrise and sunset, the entire desert glows with shifting light, creating a dreamlike, almost lunar atmosphere.
Black Desert 🖤
A striking contrast to the white — rolling hills covered in dark volcanic stones. Wild, raw, and powerful, this landscape carries a quiet intensity and deep sense of geological time.
Al-Jara Cave 🕯️
Hidden beneath the desert plateau, this ancient limestone cave reveals delicate crystalline formations and traces of fossils from when this land was once an ocean. Entering it feels like a step inward — a silent, intimate counterpoint to the vast open desert.
Dakhla Oasis & Al-Qasr 🌴🏘️
A vibrant oasis rich in history and human presence. Here, palm groves, mud architecture, and narrow shady streets tell stories of desert life through centuries. The old town of Al-Qasr offers a glimpse into a timeless way of life, rooted and resilient.
Days flow gently between yoga, meditation, shamanic journeys and slow desert exploration. We walk in silence, rest in open space, and attune to a simpler rhythm — rising with the sun, gathering at twilight, and sleeping under vast, star-filled skies.
Evenings are intimate and grounded: shared meals around the fire, tea in quiet, soft Bedouin music, and meaningful conversation under one of the clearest night skies on Earth.
A true off-grid desert immersion, far from cities and crowds

The journey begins and ends with a gentle transition: one night in a hotel in Bahariya Oasis at the start and one at the end.
In between, we live in the desert — simply and comfortably:
Private tents with mattress, pillow, and sleeping bag 🛏️
A communal tent for meals and quiet moments 🫖
A portable shower and toilets 🚿 (used mindfully)
This balance of comfort and simplicity supports a deeper connection to the land.
Meals are prepared fresh every day, simple and nourishing. Cooked on-site in traditional desert style, the food becomes part of the rhythm — grounding, communal and essential.
All dietary needs are catered for 🌿
Christos Fydanis — Yoga Teacher and Thai massage/Spine therapist
Christos is the co-founder of Catis Studio and a certified yoga teacher (E-RYT 250h, Yoga Alliance International India) and therapist in the arts of Thai Nuad Massage and spinal therapy. His classes are warm, multilingual and naturally inclusive — shaped by years of building them around his own practice. A lover of the sea who enters the water in every season of the year and a dedicated mountain trail cyclist, Christos brings that same grounded energy to his teaching.
In the Western Desert, Christos will welcome you every morning. As the sun rises over the sand dunes and the desert holds its breath in that sacred stillness before the day begins, he will lead a yoga practice designed to awaken you from the inside out — opening the senses to the vast landscape around you, warming the muscles for a day full of exploration, and opening the heart wide to let the magic of this extraordinary place pour in. Under his guidance, mornings in the desert will not simply start — they will begin with intention, with presence, and with a quiet sense of wonder that will stay with you throughout the day.
Giorgos Androulakis — Yoga Teacher, Thai Massage Therapist & Shamanic Guide
Giorgos came to yoga almost by accident — a dance student with a stiff body, he started practicing 4 hours a day from video recordings. That was 18 years ago. Since then, he has studied alongside multiple teachers and across many traditions, shaping an approach that is entirely his own: dynamic, authentic, and deeply rooted in a fascination with how the human body moves, functions, and heals itself. After two decades in Athens, where he founded one of the city's most well-known yoga spaces, he followed the call back to his Cretan roots — seeking stillness, balance, and a simpler way of life.
But for this journey into the Western Desert, Giorgos steps into a different role. Beyond his gifts as a yoga teacher, he carries a rare and powerful skill: the art of shamanic journeying. In the vast silence of the desert — one of the oldest ceremonial landscapes on Earth — he will guide participants through shamanic experiences that work beneath the surface, reaching places words and movement alone cannot access. These are not sessions you simply attend. They are encounters that stay with you, quietly rearranging something inside, long after you return home.
