I'm the CEO of The Business Toolkit, and I'm excited to share that we're growing our team. We're looking for a Full-Stack WordPress Developer to join us full-time, remote. You'd work closely with our consultants and report directly to our Web Director, helping build fast, scalable, and beautiful WordPress sites for our clients — everything from custom theme and plugin development to UX design and SEO-driven copy.
• Building and maintaining high-performance, accessible WordPress websites
• Customizing themes and plugins, and integrating third-party APIs and CRMs
• Managing custom post types, optimizing performance, and troubleshooting issues
• Designing conversion-focused, WCAG-compliant interfaces (wireframes to high-fidelity, using Paper.design)
• Conducting SEO and keyword research, and writing on-brand, search-optimized copy
• Proven WordPress development experience with a strong portfolio
• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and PHP (WordPress context)
• Experience with Greenshift Page Builder, WooCommerce, and ACF/Metabox
• Solid grasp of accessibility standards and SEO best practices
• Experience integrating CRMs, email marketing tools, or APIs
Automatic CSS (ACSS), copywriting or design skills (Adobe/Figma), experience with Paper.design, or experience with headless WordPress.
We're looking for someone proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple projects — someone who communicates well with both technical and non-technical folks and genuinely loves this work.
This is the first stage of our application process. It covers WordPress and PHP knowledge, CSS, accessibility, SEO, and how you work. Set aside about 45–75 minutes and answer honestly. There are no trick questions, we just want to understand how you think and what you actually know. Rushed or vague answers will reflect in your evaluation.
