Kunde Code Interest Form

What is Kunde Code?

Kunde is a Bassa'a word, a language spoken in Cameroon. It means freedom.

In our case, freedom like being able to build whatever we want.

Kunde Code is a free 10-week program in Ottawa during which BIPOC youths aged 16-22 will build a real AI app for Sudanese newcomers. You'll learn how AI works, write code, interview elders of the community, eat good food, develop leadership skills and present a live working tool at the end.

You don't need to be a pro, just curious, serious and committed (aka lock in).

You use AI every day. Isn't it time you built something with it?

Why Kunde Code?

As of March 2026, Canada has approved 18,575 Sudanese nationals for permanent residence and 6,135 for temporary residence many of them settling right here in Ottawa. They're arriving after fleeing one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world, trying to find doctors, housing, jobs, and schools but almost everything available is in English or French. The app you'll help build this fall could be the thing that helps a family find what they need in their language, on their worst day.
