iPace Owners Advocacy Group - Interest sign-up form
If you're a UK-based Jaguar iPace owner, worried about what the H570, H571 and H572 recalls may mean, or wanting to get a fair solution agreed with JLR to problems with your car, then this may be the right place to start. Welcome!
The proposal is that we form an official group of iPace owners, backed with shared funding (the more members, the lower the cost per head) to represent our collective interests to JLR. We back that up with the combined force of jointly funded advocacy.
The approach would be one of "speak softly and carry a big stick" rather than anything directly confrontational. While many of us may be very angry at JLR - or at the dealerships or other organisations we interact with - we should assume that JLR are as keen as anyone to keep us all happy with a fair solution. They have a very important new car about to launch and need to keep things positive around the brand! So we keep things positive, while ensuring they are aware that a more forceful approach is available to us.
1. We get as many people into the group as possible and agree an amount to contribute each towards the initial budget. Hopefully a small amount!
2. We appoint legal representation; ideally advocates with experience in consumer group actions and negotiations.
3. We make JLR aware of the group, its numbers and our collective intention to work with them to come to a solution that keeps everyone happy. We begin discussions.
Note: I'm not putting my own details on this page, as I have good contacts in the industry and into JLR, and I do not wish to compromise that. I am also a very busy person, so I'm hoping to find people within the group to take on some of the work!
We should aim to keep things constructive, and even to allow iPace owners to remain brand advocates. The terrible PR that a legal case and/or comms campaign would cause to JLR can be kept in the background to be reached for only if absolutely necessary.
There is also the opportunity, later on, to address other issues affecting large numbers of owners, such as the air conditioning pipe fault. However, the proposal is that we lead with the traction battery fault and push for a solution there.
If this sounds like something you'd like to be part of, please submit your details. If you're someone who can help with pulling it all together, even better! There must be some retirees with organisational experience - perhaps even some lawyers - among us...
We'll leave it a few days to get numbers, then get everyone onto an appropriate comms tool to get the whole thing set up and running. If you can help by sharing this to other groups and forums where iPace owners dwell, please do!
On privacy: The data you provide will be used solely for setting up the group; never sold, distributed or used in any other way!
Please complete the form below and we'll be in touch!
