Jot! Participation by Post
There are two ways you can participate by post for possible inclusion in the Jot! book.
Write a letter about why jotting down your thoughts, feelings and ideas on paper is meaningful and important to you.
We will feature some letters in the book and use the submissions to create one of the dust jackets. Submissions might also be posted in an online gallery or in the UPPERCASE newsletter.
• Your full message should be on one side of the paper only
• Write the salutation as "Dear Reader," rather than "Dear Janine" or "Dear UPPERCASE." That way, your message is universal to the folks who will be reading your letter in the book or the online gallery.
• Sign or print your name in conclusion to your message.
• Put your full name and address on the back of the letter (these details will not be published).
• The page dimensions and style of the letter are up to you as long as the full message is on one side of the paper.
• Before you mail the letter, take a picture and upload it to this form so that it can be identified (and documented in case it gets lost in the mail!) Items will not be returned.
Pretend you’re sending a message from the past about what we need to know now (and in the future) about handwriting, correspondence and/or personal connection.
• Mail a 4" x 6” postcard to UPPERCASE. Create your own postcard or modify a vintage postcard.
• Be creative and expressive: Handwriting, lettering, typewriting, calligraphy, doodles, drawings, collage... jot down your thoughts in whatever method best suits you.
• Both sides of the postcard could be potentially published, so other than your name, please don’t put any personal details like your mailing address, email address, etc) on the postcard. Before you send the card, take a picture of both sides of the postcard and upload it to this form so that it can be identified (and documented in case it gets lost in the mail!) Items will not be returned.

Take photos of your letter or postcard in good, natural light against a plain background or scan your item at 300dpi.
After you press the submit button, don't forget to drop your postcard or letter in the mail with the proper postage applied to:
