Boardy is seeking an AI Software Engineer to join our small but mighty engineering team. Our stack is modern (TypeScript, Python, cutting-edge LLMs), our problems are novel (think autonomous AI agents, not CRUD apps), and we're tackling challenges most companies won't see for years. What You’ll Be Doing:
- Building platform integrations that allow Boardy to operate where users already are (e.g., LinkedIn, WhatsApp, phone interactions)
- Engineering context systems that surface precise, relevant information at the right moment
- Designing memory systems that enable Boardy to understand, retain, and evolve user knowledge over time
- Improving matching algorithms that intelligently connect people based on goals, context, and intent
- Developing growth-focused features that drive adoption, engagement, and retention
- Identifying and owning high-impact technical initiatives that move the platform forward
What We’re Looking For:
Required Experience
- 1+ years of software engineering experience focused on machine learning systems (or relevant internships)
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Python
- Experience integrating with third-party APIs, tools, and external platforms
- Experience working with large language models, with fine-tuning as a bonus
- Experience with vector databases and search technologies such as Qdrant, Pinecone, Weaviate, or Elasticsearch
- Experience designing high-throughput, low-latency systems
- Experience processing and managing large-scale datasets (millions of records)
- Strong data preprocessing skills, including indexing, normalization, cleaning, and transformation
- Familiarity with backend technologies like NestJS, Redis, and message queues
Strongly Preferred
- Experience with SQL and ORMs; Prisma experience is a plus
- Hands-on experience with an ML framework like PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn
- Understanding of state machines and user state management
- Comfortable using AI tools in your development workflow
- Experience with database query optimization and performance monitoring
- Ability to analyze data and measure feature impact
- Working knowledge of MCP and integrating tools and data through it
