My name is Maia and I have spent most of my life next to the ocean - Hawaii, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Dubai, Portugal... but I'm a very mediocre surfer.
Yep, I'm not a grandma. But I needed a sassy, no-nonsense character in my life to remind me (or celebrate) how lame I am when I decide not to paddle out on a perfectly fine day. So, I built myself a grandma who lives in a surf app.
Maybe I can build something in the sassy Surf Grandma universe of celebrating perfectly mediocre surfing that might be fun for other people too...
So, I want to talk to ordinary humans who surf — not people trying to become pro surfers — about what you love, what drives you nuts, what you wish existed — and occasionally the completely ridiculous.
Grab a drink. Put your head in the right place. This is ~5 questions and will take ~15 minutes. Lots of mandatory questions and free text. Yeah, you need to put some effort in so the anthropologist in me can get some good human insights.
