JOB DESCRIPTION
The Director of Development & Organizational Growth will lead ADYH’s efforts to build a sustainable financial and organizational foundation for long-term growth. This person will develop and manage the organization’s funding and development pipeline while identifying strategic opportunities to strengthen ADYH’s capacity, revenue potential, institutional infrastructure, and overall sustainability.
This is a leadership and business-development role, not simply a grant-research position. The Director will be expected to proactively identify opportunities, build systems, develop funding strategies, and work closely with the Founder & Executive Director and Director of Partnerships & Institutional Relations to turn opportunities into tangible organizational growth.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop ADYH’s development and organizational growth strategy.
Build and maintain a pipeline of grants, foundations, corporate funding, sponsorships, CSR/ESG opportunities, and other mission-aligned funding sources.
Maintain a funding calendar with deadlines, eligibility requirements, application status, and next steps.
Research prospective funders, corporations, institutions, and strategic growth opportunities.
Develop funding and sponsorship concepts, proposals, concept notes, and other development materials.
Identify potential earned-revenue and sustainable business models for ADYH.
Research comparable organizations and identify effective funding and growth models.
Develop systems for tracking funding prospects, outreach, applications, relationships, and outcomes.
Identify organizational gaps and recommend practical solutions to strengthen ADYH’s capacity.
Work with the Director of Partnerships & Institutional Relations to convert institutional relationships into funding, sponsorship, programming, and strategic opportunities.
Work with the Founder to prioritize high-value funding and growth opportunities.
Proactively bring new funding, revenue, partnership, and organizational development opportunities to leadership.
Help establish the systems and infrastructure necessary for ADYH to become financially and institutionally sustainable.
Identify opportunities to diversify ADYH’s funding beyond grants and donations.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
Someone with experience in fundraising, grant development, business development, strategy, consulting, partnerships, nonprofit development, entrepreneurship, or organizational growth.
The ideal candidate is highly proactive, analytical, resourceful, and comfortable operating in an environment where systems are still being built. They should be able to see an opportunity, develop a strategy around it, and move it forward without waiting for the Founder to provide every next step.
LEADERSHIP & OWNERSHIP EXPECTATION
This is a volunteer leadership position with significant organizational responsibility. ADYH is looking for someone who can take ownership of the development and growth function, build practical systems, communicate consistently, and contribute directly to the organization’s path toward financial sustainability.
