Wag N’ Wheels celebrates the strength, joy and resilience of wheelie dogs.
On May 9, wheelie dogs will race to raise awareness and funds for Virgil's Happy Wheels a local non profit that loans out wheels to dogs in need.
If your dog uses a wheelchair/cart and loves attention, we’d love for them to apply to race!
What to Expect as a Wheelie Dog Racer
Selected wheelie dogs will be featured racers at Wag N’ Wheels on May 9.
As a racer, here’s how the experience works:
Professional Photos
Before the event, we will schedule a time for your dog to have professional photos taken. These photos will be printed and displayed at Jade Dispensary in MidTown leading up to the event so the community can meet the racers.
Community Voting / “Betting”
In the weeks before the race, the public will be able to donate and vote for the dog they think will be the fastest. All donations go toward supporting wheelie dogs and rescue efforts. The can donate at Jade and online.
Race Day
On May 9, the racers will compete in the Wag N’ Wheels race! Owners can either: run alongside their dog, or call their dog from the finish line.
It’s all about celebrating these incredible dogs and having fun… this is not a super serious competition.
Thank You Gift
As a thank you for participating, each racer will receive their professionally photographed, framed portrait of their wheelie dog at the end of the event.
