Mechatronics Engineer

Rockslice is building the missing standard method for controlled interventions in rock and concrete. Today the construction industry still improvises when material must be removed in confined or sensitive environments. We are building the method that should have existed all along.
We are expanding our team with a versatile Mechatronics Engineer to help drive development at our waterfront lab in Bergen. This is a hands-on role where you will help architect and build the robotics that drive our platforms.
Responsibilities: - Ideate, design, prototype and assemble complex robotic systems - Spec and source actuators, power transmission, and control components - Work with external vendors to manufacture parts and assemblies - Use our internal manufacturing equipment (CNC machines, 3D printers, etc) to manufacture parts and assemblies - Aid in the development of system software and control laws - Integrate and test our robotic platform
Qualifications - 3+ years of hands on experience with the development and testing of robotic hardware - B.Sc, M.Sc, or PhD in mechanical engineering, robotics, or equivalent - Proficiency in 3D design software (Onshape or equivalent) - Proficiency in 2D part drawing creation with knowledge of GD&T - Experience shipping hardware to production
Nice to have - Experience with CAM and 3 Axis CNC machining - Experience with robotic software development (Python, C++, ROS 2, Git, etc) - CFD and FEA Knowledge and experience - Construction robotics or equipment experience
If the idea of building a new method for one of the world’s most conservative industries excites you, we would like to hear from you. We care less about checking every box and more about working with people who build, solve problems, and take ownership of real technology.
