A Workshop Exploring Realtime Network Art & Performance

At Mutek Vancouver October 2026, we're discussing potential futures of networked media artworks through a collaborative workshop and discussion.

Transmissive Substrates are media works that invite and participate in networks - they collect, transmute and emit data, light, sound, human or non-human expression in many forms.

In this workshop we'll explore the dynamics of networked movement together. This class is intended for artists, musicians and performers working with technology - but is open to all. We'll try to build a balanced space with many voices.

This survey is to help us understand our attendees better and create a better workshop - we're not filtering based on our perceived value of portfolios.
