These questions are designed to give us a high-level overview of your business and marketing activities before we get started. There are no right or wrong answers, you can write as much or as little as you like. Most people complete it in around 5 minutes.

What problem do you solve for customers? What do you do that is unique and/or differentiated from the competition? Do you have capabilities that alternatives do not?
What is your point of view on the future of your industry and how you think about the market differently from others?

3 Customer Value

What are the primary motivations driving your customers to use your product or service? How do they currently solve these problems?
What is the impact of you solving these problems for your customers (consider functional, emotional, economic and social impacts)?

4 Marketing Strategy

What have you tried that has worked well over the last 12 months and what have you tried that didn't work?

What has been your best converting asset(s) to date? Which marketing channel(s) have worked the best for you?

5 Marketing Advantages

From a marketing perspective, what unique advantages do you or your business have that your competitors don't? Are there things in your business, in your product or in the market that can inherently drive growth?

Competitors

Who are some of your direct and indirect competitors? (Direct = those that offer a similar product or service, Indirect = those that compete for the same audience)? What frustrations do customers typically encounter with competitors?

Customer Research

Do you actively seek insights from prospects and customers? For example - user testing, polls, surveys, analytics, heatmaps, session recordings, sales call recordings, customer interviews? If so, is this done regularly as a repeatable process or more of a one-off?

Tech Stack

What does your marketing and sales technology stack looks like? What are the core tools and platforms that are used? Where do you feel you are behind in terms of marketing technology?

Team

What does your team look like (number of people and expertise)? Include details of part-time employees, long-term agency engagements, fractional hires etc.
