Techloy.com is seeking an experienced and visionary Managing Editor to lead our editorial operations and execute our content strategy. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the technology landscape, exceptional editorial judgment, and a proven track record of managing content teams to produce high-quality, engaging, and authoritative articles, reviews, and features. This role is pivotal in shaping our brand voice, expanding our audience reach, and maintaining our reputation as a trusted source for tech news and information.

Responsibilities

+ Develop and execute a comprehensive content strategy that aligns with Techloy's goals, audience interests, and SEO best practices, ensuring it resonates with our audience and drives engagement.
+ Oversee all aspects of our content production process, from ideation and assignment to editing, publishing, and promotion. Ensure all content meets the highest standards of accuracy, journalistic integrity, and editorial quality.
+ Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of writers, editors, and contributors. Foster a collaborative and productive work environment, conducting regular performance reviews and facilitating professional development
+ Implement and refine editorial workflows, processes, content plans, and content calendars to maximize efficiency and meet publishing deadlines. Utilize content management systems (CMS) and project management tools effectively.
+ Conduct thorough reviews of all content, ensuring consistency in tone, style, grammar, and factual accuracy and that it meets Techloy's editorial standards.
+ Work closely with the editorial team, assigning tasks and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality content that is optimized for search engines. Monitor content performance using analytics tools and leverage data insights to inform future content decisions.
+ Define and maintain a distinctive, authoritative, and engaging brand voice across all content, ensuring it resonates with our target audience.
+ Familiarity with tech journalism, industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to identify new content opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
+ Liaise with other departments, including operations and sales, to support integrated campaigns and initiatives.

Requirements

+ Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, English, or a related field. A master's degree is an advantage.
+ Minimum of 7 years of experience in digital media, with at least 3-5 years in a senior editorial or managing editor role, preferably within the technology sector.
+ Demonstrable expertise and passion for technology topics, including but not limited to software, hardware, AI, cybersecurity, consumer electronics, and emerging technologies.
+ Exceptional writing, editing, communication, and proofreading skills with meticulous attention to detail.
+ Proven ability to lead, manage, and motivate a team of content writers and creators.
+ Strong understanding and application of SEO principles and content marketing best practices.
+ Proficiency with our content management system, Ghost, analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics), the Microsoft 365 suite of apps, and project management software.
+ Adept at managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously, with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
+ Experience with video content production, podcasting, data visualization, and infographic creation.
+ A strong network within the tech industry and strong interpersonal relationship skills to maintain good relationships with stakeholders.
+ Drive, a positive attitude, and a good sense of humor.

Remuneration

+ Based on standards within the technology media industry, along with exciting perks.
+ Depending on skills and experience.
+ Salary range is between ₦6 million and ₦7.2 million per annum.
