Organised by Cambridge AI Safety Hub, MARS 3.0 program connects promising aspiring researchers with experienced mentors to pursue AI safety projects. Running from July 7th to mid-late September 2025, the program combines an intensive week in Cambridge with remote research work.

The application deadline to submit this form is May 18th, 23:59, Anywhere on Earth. Upon submitting this form, you might be invited for a further coding test, written assignment or interview (Stage I). Upon passing this initial stage, mentors will select and invite applicants for further interviews or tests on a rolling basis (Stage II). Final decisions will be made by June 16th.

Details of the programme can be found here.

Ideal applicants are:

- Current students or professionals
- Able to commit ~8 hours per week to research - Motivated to contribute to AI safety research - (For individuals applying to the Technical Track): Background in machine learning or coding - Nice to have: Previous experience in hardware architecture or cybersecurity. We think professionals with this skillset are particularly important
