MARS 4.0 Participant Application

Organised by Cambridge AI Safety Hub, MARS 4.0 connects promising AI Safety researchers with experienced mentors to pursue AI safety projects. Running from December 1st to early-mid February 2026, the program combines an intensive week in Cambridge with remote research work.

The deadline to submit your application is October 1st, 23:59, Anywhere on Earth.

We aim to contact all applicants within two weeks of the October 1 deadline.

If you pass Stage I, you will move to Stage II. This may include an asynchronous interview and mentor-specific applications (which may take up to 2 hours per mentor). You will have one week to complete these.

After Stage II, mentors may invite applicants for further interviews or tests. We aim to share final decisions by November 1.

More details about the programme can be found here.

Technical note: This form automatically saves your work as you go. Even if you're not ready to submit, please add your email address - this allows us to send you a reminder before the deadline!
