Research & Publication Assistant

About Island City Lab

Island City Lab is a Kingston-based practice that examines the contemporary urban issues facing the Caribbean, and how they manifest in space and across time. Our cities are sites where crucial resources are concentrated but also the ‘contact zones’ where we interface with multiple crises from economic austerity to climate catastrophe. We produce and disseminate knowledge to build the collective capacity to reimagine and manifest sustainable and equitable urban futures.

The Publication (Provision Ground)

Provision Ground provides new perspectives on island cities and how they are being (re)made. We are interested in the relationships between the urban environment and culture, society, politics, and everyday life. Each article explores issues of broad relevance through specific places, projects, and stories centred in Caribbean cities.
