VOLUNTEER WITH US AT WORLD IA DAY LA 2026

World IA Day is a one-day celebration hosted by local volunteers around the world. Our mission is to build and connect a global community of information architecture advocates and practitioners — and we need your help to make it happen in LA.

This year's theme: Design for Meaning

We design to discover and shape meaning. The things we design help people find meaning in chaos. We design as a way of life that brings us meaning.

What you'll be doing

Pre-event: • Help unload supplies • Set up check-in and breakfast tables

• Set up check-in and breakfast tables • Place signage and balloons at entrance • Capture behind-the-scenes photos/videos for social media

During the event: • Staff the check-in table • Keep the breakfast and lunch areas clean and stocked • Guide attendees between sessions • Be available to answer questions • Help pick up and set up lunch

Post-event: • Help clean up and load out supplies • Leave the space how we found it

What you get

• Volunteer breakfast (TBA, coffee, etc.)

• Lunch and snacks throughout the day • A behind-the-scenes look at how the event comes together • A chance to meet the community — speakers, organizers, attendees • If you've thought about helping organize next year, this is a great way to see how it works

Event details

• Saturday, March 7, 2026 • 8:00 AM (or a little earlier if you can!) • ArtCenter College of Design, South Campus 950 Building — 950 S Raymond Ave, Pasadena, CA 91105 • Free lot on site • Doors open at 9:00 AM, program runs 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM • All black, smart casual. Comfortable shoes (doesn't have to be formal).
