We are seeking our first QA engineer to join the team, a pivotal role in ensuring the stability and quality of our product as we grow. This is a unique opportunity to work with a cutting-edge platform and define the testing processes from the ground up.

You will be responsible for defining testing scopes, creating detailed test cases, identifying edge cases, and rigorously testing new features and modules. While the initial focus will be on manual testing, we’re looking for someone who can eventually contribute to building automation test suites as bandwidth allows. Independence, problem-solving skills, and an ability to thrive in ambiguity are crucial for success in this role.

Responsibilities

- Define and document testing scope for new features, modules, and updates.
- Create and execute comprehensive test cases, ensuring coverage for edge cases and complex workflows.
- Perform rigorous manual testing to identify, document, and report bugs, inconsistencies, and usability issues.
- Collaborate with developers and product managers to understand requirements and provide feedback during the development cycle.
- Set up and maintain test environments to replicate real-world scenarios effectively.
- Develop and maintain a robust bug-tracking process, ensuring timely resolution and communication.
- Contribute to building automation test suites when bandwidth allows, prioritizing high-value test cases for automation.
- Proactively identify gaps in existing testing processes and recommend improvements.
- Ensure release readiness by validating fixes, performing regression testing, and signing off on deployments.
- Stay updated with QA best practices, tools, and technologies to improve the quality assurance process.

Skills & Experience

- Experience: 1+ years of professional experience in manual and automation testing.
- Test Planning: Strong ability to define testing scope, create detailed test plans, and write comprehensive test cases.
- Problem-Solving: Proven ability to identify edge cases, troubleshoot complex issues, and work independently to ensure quality.
- Hands-on experience with tools like Selenium, JIRA, Cypress, or similar testing and bug-tracking tools.
- Familiarity with automation frameworks and experience creating or maintaining automation test suites (preferred).
- Proficiency in scripting/programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript for automation.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with developers, product managers, and stakeholders.
- Quick learner with the ability to understand a niche domain and adapt testing approaches accordingly.
- Experience with large-scale, distributed systems or niche platforms is a plus.
