Dancing in the Streets Volunteer Application

Please take a few moments to complete the following application form to help us understand your preferences and availability. Your information will assist us in assigning you to a volunteer position that aligns with your interests and schedule.

Responsibilities & Hours

Date: Saturday, July 13, 2024
Time: 4-11pm
We have several opportunities for Volunteering. You can volunteer before the event & help with the core planning and organzation of the event. This is great opportunity if you are looking to get more into special events, to learn about what it takes to organize them or get a great resume booster!a
We also have opportunities for during the event that require anywhere from 2- 6 hours.

Positions Available:

Before Event Opportunities:

1. Street Closing Committee Leads (1-2 people):
Description: Lead a group of volunteers, work directly with Jaime and Haleigh, and help organize the event's programming.
Responsibilities: Train volunteers, serve as the point of contact during the event and commit 20-30 hours from Feb to July (including the event day).
2. Poster Distributor:
Description: Help hang posters before the event
Responsibilities: 1-3 hours

During Event Opportunities

1. Street Closing Helpers (Unlimited Positions):
Description: Assist with various tasks on the day of the event, including helping artists and carrying supplies.
Responsibilities: Mainly day-of responsibilities with the possibility of a few meetings before the event. Commit 6-20 hours.
2. Vendor Organizers (5-10 volunteers):
Description: Assist vendors on the day of the event, ensuring they are set up correctly.
Responsibilities: Help vendors find their locations and ensure organization. Possibly attend pre-event meetings. Commit 6-10 hours.
3. Check-In Area Volunteers (12-24 volunteers):
Description: Check IDs, distribute wristbands, and collect donations at the event entrance.
Responsibilities: Work for 2-4 hours on the event day (volunteers will work half of the event).
4. Security (10-15 Volunteers):
Description: Stand at entrances to ensure people do not leave the event. This position can be combined with the Check-In area.
Responsibilities: Work for 2-4 hours.
For volunteering, all volunteers will receive event shirts, swag items, drink/food tickets (drink tickets if 21 and older) to be used during the event & attend Volunteer Appreciation party with food, drink and giveaways!
