We are looking for a Dog Care Expert to join Woofy to lead the daily operational activities of Lausanne's newest dog daycare & hotel.
Workload: 60 - 100%
Contract type: CDD with potential for CDI
Place of work: Beaulieu in Lausanne
Start date: mid-April, to be discussed

Job Description

The Dog Care Expert is the primary care provider and supervisor for all dogs at Woofy, ensuring their wellbeing and safety in a calm and engaging environment. The position is also responsible for the maintenance of the Woofy facilities and smooth running of operations. The position reports to the Founder & Managing Director of Woofy.

Responsibilities:

- Interact with every dog with love and attention, while customising their daily activities according to their specific needs.

- Observe every dog’s behaviour and appearance for general assessment of their mental and physical wellbeing, and adapt their daily activities accordingly.

- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of every dog by handling them with full attention, proactivity and empathy.

- Engage with clients (dog owners) in a manner that’s professional and helpful, for positive client experiences.

- Upkeep the records of individual dog preferences, behaviours, and activities to ensure personalised care.

- Walk dogs outside several times daily, in small groups.

- Complete the daily cleaning duties to maintain high standards of hygiene and safety of Woofy’s environment.

- Propose new ideas for the continuous improvement of Woofy's services and operations.

Requirements:

- Previous experience working with dogs of all shapes and sizes in a professional context, including handling, walking, bathing, feeding of dogs, as well as resolving conflict and aggression between dogs

- CFC in animal care or an FSIFP in dogs, ideally

- Must show empathy for animals and genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs

- Must take pleasure in physical work and outdoor walks

- Additional certifications in canine education/training and canine behavior are nice to have

- Able to communicate well in both french and english

- Able to maintain positive relations with both clients and team members.

- Understands the importance of excellent customer service, including client and dog happiness
