You do not have to share your personal phone number or email. In Signal follow these steps to create a username: Open Signal > tap your profile picture > (if iOS) Settings > tap on your name at the top of the screen > then the @username option. Choose a username. This is different from your display name, and is not publicly visible. You can also control who can see your phone number in the settings.

There are many events coming up including overpass banner drops, No Kings (Mar 28th), and Mayday (May 1st). There are also many roles that can be done virtually, so it's totally okay if 'in person' does not work for you.
