Hillhouse / Cohort II

HILLHOUSE is an independent nonprofit fellowship backed by Yale Ventures and supported by leading venture capital firms, dedicated to connecting and supporting exceptional Yale undergraduates who are building the next generation of technical ventures. Fellows join a selective community focused on active entrepreneurship, with direct access to premiere operators and investors.
Through weekly dinners and trips to NYC/SF, fellows build relationships in intimate in-person settings with accomplished mentors from industry-leading firms such as Google, Meta, Palantir, OpenAI, and leading startups and venture firms.
All fellows will have access to exclusive paid summer internship opportunities with vetted technology startups, including portfolio companies of Hillhouse venture capital partners. Hillhouse is committed to helping fellows secure meaningful roles by providing dedicated support, resources, and direct introductions to high-growth startups.
Previous fellows have gone on to work at leading Silicon Valley companies such as Cursor, Scale, Harvey, and Saronic and to found ventures that have raised millions in funding.
Fellows also join a lasting network of Yale technology leaders who continue to support each other's professional growth and ventures long after graduation.

Fellowship eligibility for Cohort II is limited to students YC ’27 and younger (i.e., '28, '29). Applications are due by 11:59 PM EST on Friday, December 5, 2025.

Tell us a bit about yourself

Residential college

YC graduation Year

If you are graduating off-cycle, round to the following summer (e.g. Fall 2026 should put 2027).

What have you created that you are most proud of?

Think about a moment you’re proud of: a milestone that reflects your values, skills, and aspirations. It doesn’t have to be something traditional or conventional; we want to know what feels meaningful to you. This could be a chance to discuss something you've built.

What is the most entrepreneurial thing you've done?

This question is intentionally broad—we’re interested in seeing your agency, bias toward action, and ability to create something from scratch. This could be a startup but could also range from a personal project to a community or initiative that spotlights your ownership, creativity, and desire for scale.

What is a technology you're obsessed with?

Tell us about a technology you’re obsessed with. This can be something you’re currently using, learning about, or simply believe will change the world. We want to know why it excites you, what makes it important or impactful, and how you think it will shape the future.

Mentor reference

Provide the email of a teacher, mentor, or advisor who knows you well and can vouch for your skills, character, and potential. They may be contacted during the review process.

OOD acceleration

If you have any OOD (out-of-distribution) accomplishments (technical, entrepreneurial, etc.) or aspects of your background that you believe may warrant accelerating your application, please tell us about them here.
Leaving this question blank won't count against you; this is just a way for us to account for experiences that don't fit neatly into standard categories.
