Friendly Captcha Application Form - Intern (or Junior) [Utrecht, The Netherlands]
- Software Engineer intern (preferably 4+ months)
- Software Engineer junior
At
Friendly Captcha we welcome applications for talented interns (and junior developers).
You will have the opportunity to work in a fast-growing startup, learn the ropes, and actually contribute meaningfully (other than some internships in large companies where intern projects are just nice-to-haves).
We are a bootstrapped, mostly-remote, and profitable company (founded 2020) with an engineering team of around 5 people (mix of part-time and full-time).
We believe that for interns and juniors it's very valuable to spend time in-person with colleagues, therefore we propose to work together in person ~3 days per week in Utrecht, The Netherlands (near the train station).
- Friendly Captcha protects websites from abuse and spam without being harmful to users.
- Our engineering team is remote across Europe, the company has an office near Munich, Germany.
- We meet up with the entire team three times per year, of those two are offsites where we meet together in some European city, the other time we all meet in our Munich HQ.
- We aim for sustainability, with a healthy work-life balance. We believe that creative and talented individuals are self-organizing and self-motivated.
- Some key technologies in our stack are Go, Typescript, Postgres, Redis, Clickhouse, Terraform, and OpenTelemetry. We see engineering as a way to build a great product, not as a goal in itself.
- You are a self-starter and motivated.
- You like to learn and build things outside of school/university, and you have something to show for it.
- You are productive in at least two different programming languages, and you'd like to learn more.
- You are studying something with a component of software development (computer science, artificial intelligence, data science, other engineering degrees). This is a soft requirement: if you can show you are a great builder please do apply.
- You are looking for a paid internship in which you actually join the team, instead of only working on your own internship project. If it's a requirement for you university, it is possible to have a specific research focus.
For this Junior/Intern position we very strongly prefer candidates from The Netherlands. You must be domiciled in the EU or EEA to be considered at all.
Where are you located? (You must be domiciled in the EU or EEA).
Could you provide us some links or text for us to learn about past work? Such as your Github/Gitlab/Codeberg profile, past projects, your personal website/blog, etc.
One of the best ways for us to consider new team members is to look at past projects. If you have an open source project, a cool hobby project, or have helped build a SaaS project in the past, do share!
Anything else you'd like to share?
Perhaps why you think this role may be a good fit for you?
What would you like your role to look like? What are you hoping to learn?
Any requirements or desires that we should know of (for an intern position)?
