The year 2024, like the two preceding years, has been marked for Russian civil society by the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. Throughout the year, political persecution continued unabated within Russia.

The results of another year have been summarized by the OVD-Info project in the review "Repressions in Russia in 2024." The report incorporates data and analysis from OVD-Info participants, the SOVA Center for Information and Analysis, the Vyhod group, Groza media, as well as human rights initiatives such as First Department and Team Against Torture.

Members of the OVD-Info will present key data on persecution and highlight the main trends of the repressive apparatus during the presentation of the report on the evening of the 31th January in the hall of the main building of the EHESS on 54, boulevard Raspail (75007 Paris).

What do these findings tell us, and what can we expect in the near future? These questions will be explored during a roundtable discussion with journalists, researchers, and human rights advocates following the presentation.
