Hellena Jang (Seoul, South Korea)
Hellena là người sáng lập trường ứng tác đầu tiên ở Hàn Quốc (2014) và nhóm IMFROG - nhóm ứng tác được yêu mến tại Hàn Quốc và các improv festival khu vực Châu Á. Cô được đào tạo tại các trường hàng đầu về ứng tác như iO, The Second City, Huge Theatre, The Annoyance Theater, Comedy Sportz, The Pack Theater…Với 12 năm kinh nghiệm, Hellena sẽ cùng SIH đem đến 4 workshop & 2 show diễn mới lạ trong tháng 7 này.

Hellena Jang is an experienced improv performer and coach based in Seoul, South Korea. Her journey into spontaneous storytelling started in 2011 when she joined a local expat improv group, Seoul City Improv. After a year of irresistible improv goodness, she took the bold step of quitting her day job to pursue improv full-time! To further refine her craft, she’s traveled across the globe and learned from numerous improv schools, including I.O., The Second City, Huge Theatre, The Annoyance Theater, Comedy Sportz, The Pack Theater...

In 2014, Hellena founded the first Korean Improv School to spread the joy of improvisational comedy in her home country! She also formed a Korean-based improv team, IMFROG, which has since clocked numerous shows adapted to Korean audiences.

WORKSHOP 1: BOLD CHOICE & TAKE ACTION! (Friday 25/7 19:00 - 21:30) [SOLD OUT - join the waiting list]

Do you feel bored or stuck during a scene? This workshop gives you tool to make the scene more interesting. We will talk less, take action and have fun while improvising. Get out of your head and just do it!

Duration: 2.5 hours

Level: Beginner, Intermediate, Experienced (finished level 1 at Saigon Improv House or equivalent)

WORKSHOP 2: MURDER MYSTERY K-DRAMA VERSION (Saturday 26/7 13:30 - 16:30) [SOLD OUT - join the waiting list]

In one location, there will be a murder and the detective will find out who the murderer is. However, each character has a secret and even when the audience have witnessed, nobody knows who the murderer is. This format is inspired by Nick Maaß’s original Murder mystery infused with some K-drama (expecting Kimchi slapstick). Imfrog had a standing ovation performing this format in Singapore in 2018. We can’t wait to share with you.

WORKSHOP 3: LOVE ME, CATCH ME (Sunday 27/7 10:00 - 13:00) [SOLD OUT - join the waiting list]

This is a long-form that Imfrog created based on the K-love real variety show version, “Love me, Catch me”. There are many Love Reality Variety shows in Korea and they are very popular right now such as “I’m solo”, “I’m Back, Again”, “Solo Hell” and so on… And there are so many characters and stories going on. We will create a long form improv about Love but based on Characters and their stories. Who will be together and who will not? We will find out!

WORKSHOP 4: HOW TO MAKE A SCENE (Monday 28/7 19:00 - 21:30) [1 SPOT LEFT]

How to start and finish the scene? Let's figure it out. If you are having a problem jumping into the scene and it is hard to finish the scene, this is for you. We will learn some tips and explore timing - the most important key point for good improv.

Level: Everyone. This workshop welcomes everyone - all levels of experienced (whether you have tried improv or not).
