We’re seeking a Senior Python Engineer with Voice Systems Experience to own the NLU pipeline: from transcripts to intent classification, fallback handling, and contextual understanding. You’ll partner with the Head of AI to make Geny’s assistant robust across regions, accents, and workflows.
What You’ll Do
Own the STT → NLU → Action pipeline for Geny’s assistant
Design and implement intent classification models using embeddings, clustering, and LLM prompting
Develop fallback strategies for ambiguous/failed commands
Build and maintain prompt libraries for scheduling, payments, CRM, and social media flows
Benchmark and improve performance across languages and accents
Collaborate with backend team to integrate NLU modules into production APIs
Mentor junior Voice Data Engineers, review code, and guide annotation strategies
Partner with product/design on multilingual conversation flows and edge case handling
Tools & Skills
Strong Python (NLP & ML stack: transformers, spaCy, sentence-transformers)
Experience with intent classification, embeddings, similarity search
Exposure to speech systems (Whisper, Coqui, or similar STT engines)
Familiarity with LLMs and prompt engineering for conversational tasks
Production-level ML experience: evaluation frameworks, monitoring, retraining loops
SQL/NoSQL (Postgres, Redis) + API integration experience
Bonus: multilingual NLP experience (French, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Vietnamese)
First 3–6 Months
Work on  Geny’s NLU pipeline to improve mapping accuracy (transcript → action)
Deploy clustering + embedding similarity to cover 80%+ of common user utterances
Build a fallback intent detector that reduces failures by 30%
Ship prompt libraries for top workflows: scheduling, payments, social posting
Mentor the junior Voice Data Engineer on annotation & clustering methods

Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $60,000 – $90,000 USD annually (depending on experience and location)
