Failure to adhere to the guidelines will result in an immediate disqualification. You'll receive a blank email entitled "disqualified from Queer Folklore" in that instance.
AUTHOR AGREEMENT:
A part of the Unicorn Teeth's mission is to provide opportunities for new editors to build an editorial portfolio and experience. In the instance your work has been accepted for publication, one of our editors will work with you on your manuscript with edits ranging from developmental edits to just copyedits/proofing. As the author, you will have final say on how the manuscript appears when published, meaning all editorial remarks are suggestions, not demands. At the bottom of the submission portal, you'll see an option to grant permission for editors to keep a PDF with suggestions for their portfolio. You can decide at a later time to rescind your permission, or, if you particularly enjoyed working with an editor, you can grant them permission at any time during the editing stages.
PRINTING AND PUBLISHING RIGHTS:
Unicorn Teeth Magazine reserves archival rights for digital ebooks and print books. Rights works revert back to the authors upon publication. If you need to pull your work from the anthology (for a contest or whatever reason), let us know and we'll update.
Unicorn Teeth Magazine cannot offer monetary payments for published works at this time. All published authors will receive both a PDF and an ePUB of the anthologies they are published in, and discounted print anthology for cost-of-production-only. Additionally, Unicorn Teeth Magazine will champion its authors on social media, the Iridian Jawbone blog, and online release parties/readings.
BIGOTRY, SLURS, AND/OR HATE SPEECH OF ANY KIND WILL GET YOUR SUBMISSION(S) IMMEDIATELY DISQUALIFIED:
Please note Unicorn Teeth Magazine has a zero-tolerance policy on white supremacy, colonialism, bigotry, ableism, discrimination, and queerphobia, ai prompted, inspired, or generated works. This is explicitly a magazine that believes in the rights and liberation of all indigenous peoples, including Palestinians. If you oppose the "land back" movement and other forms of discrimination, it is highly recommended you don't submit materials to us to avoid your work being removed from publication. We reserve the rights to pull any work from a submitter that is an advocate of harm and hate. Any messages attempting to contest this will also be blocked and blacklisted. Unicorn Teeth Magazine is NOT going to debate if people should have rights.
FUNDRAISING:
Proceeds from the anthology will be given to
Safebow, an organization dedicated to evacuating people from genocide and war zones. The hyperlink should work, but if it doesn't, please let us know.
