Board of Directors Application

The Board of Directors of Renton Civic Theatre is actively seeking new Board Members.
Renton Civic Theatre is a 501(c)3 Nonprofit arts organization.  We are looking to add passionate, dedicated members to the brand new Board of Directors
What we need:
While all applicants are welcome, the specific mission of the Board of Directors is to oversee, support, maintain, and improve the business of running a theatre organization.  We would prefer applicants who can show:
Prior experience with running an events-based business and/or venue.
Bookkeeping or accounting knowledge.
Prior experience with grant writing for the Arts.
Legal knowledge
You must be willing to sign the Renton Civic Theatre's Code of Conduct in order to be considered.
What you'll be doing:
This is a volunteer position.
Board meetings are currently occurring weekly, at varying days/times, until the reorganization is complete. In the future, board meetings will occur monthly, on an undecided date/time that the board members will agree upon.
Occasionally, members may be asked to join Board subcommittees with separate meeting schedules.
The RCT Board of Directors is what is considered a "working board". Members are expected to collectively cover the duties of a full-time management staff. As such, the weekly required time commitment currently sits at 3-5 hours, though this requirement is subject to change based on the theater's immediate needs. We are rapidly changing, and so will the board and its duties.
In addition, members are asked to volunteer at events by running the box office, tending the bar, or selling concessions, should there be a shortage of volunteers for a given event.
Your input and support will help us to run and improve the theatre.  If you love having live theatre in Renton, please consider applying to the Board to help us continue to thrive!
