Join your fellow Saint John community members at Haven Music Hall for candid conversations about the social, political and cultural systems that affect us. Society is divided between the few who dominate and the many who are dominated. This division is the product of the core structures that define our society (i.e., systems of oppression such as capitalism, the state, heteropatriarchy, imperialism, settler colonialism, and white supremacy). A team of panelists will explore ideas around these systems of oppression and connect them to basic needs, gender, race, and environmental issues.
The purpose of this panel series is to have meaningful conversations about 1) how these systems of oppression manifest in society and our own lived experiences and 2) ways we can organize ourselves to dismantle these systems of oppression and establish cross-community support.
