We are looking for a driven and talented Frontend Design Systems Engineer to join our team. You will play a key role in developing and maintaining reusable and modular web component design system libraries that not only elevate our product offerings but also adhere to stringent accessibility standards. If you’re passionate about creating accessible, user-centric web components and have a deep understanding of WCAG 2.2 AA compliance, we’d love to hear from you. You will take on the following responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain reusable and modular web component design system libraries utilising modern web technologies.
• Work closely with accessibility team to ensure all components meet or exceed WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards.
• Maintain existing code and implement new features with a focus on accessibility and reusability.
• Continuously discover, evaluate, and adopt new technologies to maximise development efficiency and accessibility.
• Continuously gather feedback from users, customers, and colleagues to improve our offerings.

Requirements

To qualify for this role, you’ll have to meet the following criteria:
• Minimum of 3+ years of industry experience in software development, with a strong emphasis on frontend component development. • Degree in computer science, digital technology, mathematics, physics, or similar -- or comparable experience.
• Thorough knowledge of JavaScript, CSS, HTML. Strong skills in JavaScript/Typescript.
• Industry software development experience using a popular JavaScript Framework like React, Angular or Vue. • Software development experience using source control systems such as Git. • Testing mindset and an eye for clean code. Experience with automated testing practices. Familiarity with browser testing and debugging.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a passion for learning and adapting to new technologies.
• Ability to rapidly acquire new software skills and work with new technologies.
• Appreciate great design and thrive in a creative environment. • Military obligations must be fulfilled (if applicable).
• Proven literacy in English.
If you also meet any of the following, even better:
• Experience working with Storybook.
• Knowledge of SEO principles.
• Understanding of security principles and how they apply to web applications.
• Experience working on small to medium‐sized agile teams.
• Experience with commonly used 3rd party libraries and services.
• Experience with task planning and estimating effort.
