Come together with local bead weavers from across Turtle Island to explore the diverse and transcendent art of beadwork. Beads and thread connect cultures and continents, reflecting a rich history and vibrant modern practice embraced worldwide.

Enjoy an evening of tea, conversations, and creativity as we celebrate our connectedness to the earth and each other. Whether you're a seasoned bead artist or a curious beginner, this event is for you!

Bring your passion for creativity and community. We can't wait to see you there!

Participants learning to bead for the first time will be asked to gift the first item they make, in accordance with tradition. All materials are provided for two or three projects, your choice of a beaded flower pin, beaded orange/pink shirt pin, or beaded watermelon pin.

The room we've rented is upstairs at the HUB (there is a chair lift but no elevator.) If this is problematic to your mobility, we'd like to work out a solution. We can move the group outside, if needed. Please let me know in this box if the stairs are a problem for you, and I will reach out to ensure you can attend without barriers. (P.S. We are working on an accessible venue in downtown Duncan for the next event!)

All materials are provided, as well as tea and light snacks.

You're welcome to bring an allergy-friendly snack to share.
You're encouraged to bring a full and reusable water bottle.
You're welcome to bring your own supplies and examples of your work if you're a beader!
No one will be refused participation due to an inability to pay. We offer full financial aid for BIPOC, 2SLGBTQ+ and youth participants who face systemic exclusion elsewhere. Email us at [email protected] so we can get you here.
