Georgian dance: from Tradition to the Present

Auditoria.Talks podcast recording with Natia Chikvaidze and Alena Papina
A conversation between two dance artists about dance culture in Georgia: its history, traditions, and contemporary context. We will discuss the dance education system, the culture of Georgian national dance and the industry around it, the status of independent dancers in Georgia, and the current situation in the dance and performative scene, referring to Natia’s and her colleagues’ works. What independent venues exist? How do Georgian dance artists find ways to create, and what are they interested in artistically? Is there space for immigrants in Georgian dance classes and projects?

You will have the opportunity to join the discussion and ask your questions - or submit them in advance via the form below
