Event Registration Candidacy for IOAA 2025

Welcome to the 1st round of registration for Participation in IOAA 2025!

Felicitations! Ethiopia is going to be participant in the International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics(IOAA) for the first time ever. This Opportunity is earned by remarkable result our students have achieved in the 2024's Open World Astronomy Olympiad(OWAO) in Russia. As always, we would like to distribute inclusivity among all Ethiopian pedigrees of Space Science So, we are seeking Highschool Students with Outstanding Endeavor in the triads of Physics, Mathematics and Astronomy or Astrophysics to stride another hit at the 2025's IOAA competition.

Description about the Program:

Our Institution(SSGI) will be the recruiter of the finalists to participate at IOAA 2025 representing Ethiopia. As institutional guideline, we are urging for those students whose ages are less than 20; who have a tangible affiliation with Astronomical Extracurricular engagements, and who are bounded with in the academical classes of 9th grade high school - First year Undergraduate class as of 2025. After carefully skimming through this description, make sure to understand the Application requirements listed in the Selection Process.

Selection Process:

Contestants should adhere to the following criteria to qualify for the screening test and participate in this Prestigious international Olympiad of Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA).

1. You should have some endeavors and activities to show related to astronomical and astrophysical activities not only limited to but that can include:

- School club activities under the same theme.

- Extracurricular engagements

- Conferences and seminar participations

- Ethiopian Space Science Society membership

- ESKC membership

2. You should have some level of core foundation in Physics, mathematics, and astronomy which is to be tested during the 1st filtering process.

3. You should prepare your documents as a digital media file in the format of .pdf only (NB: you can use the smallpdf website to convert your files to pdf). The required documents are:

- Personal Portfolio or CV

- Proof certificates of their activities

- Their school or local ID card with a recent photo of you on it.(optional)

- proof of passport ownership with at least 1 year of validity.(optional)

Deadlines and Result Announcement

The application period only stays for a week from January 26 - February 2 2025. Results will be announced through the email you will provide on the personal details section So stay tuned on your emails.
