On a scale of 1 to 10, how equipped do you feel as a project manager?

I break projects down into three categories: People, Process and You.

The following three questions deal with topics under each category.

People

When dealing with people, who is the most challenging?

Stakeholders - those people with an active interest in the outcome of your project

Team - those resources working directly on your project

Neither - I am pretty good at dealing with people on my project

There are many tools and processes a project manager can use and deploy. The list is really too long. So I have chosen only four. Your choice will reveal further specific issues to choose from. Choose the one you struggle with the most.

Risk - evaluating threats and opportunities that impact your project

Tailoring - developing your project approach for your unique project and content

Project Work - executing the tasks and activities of a project effectively and efficiently

When you look at yourself, which of these five is your biggest weakness?

Adaptability and Resiliency - the ability to respond to changing conditions and the ability to absorb impacts and recover from a setback.

Leadership - the ability to lead others and move them forward to complete the effort

Stewardship - to care for all people and nurture all processes

Ethics - maintaining the four core values of Honesty, Respect, Responsibility and Fairness

Core Management Skills - such as running meetings, documentation, status, etc
