Submission Deadlines

• Capital Projects planned for delivery in 2026/2027: Submit by 12pm, 4th August 2025

Thank you for your interest in supporting the future of Orkney’s communities. As part of the UK Government’s 10-Year Plan for Neighbourhoods Programme, The Orkney Fund Board has been allocated £200,000 in capacity funding for 2025/26. This funding will support the establishment of the Board and support early stages of projects across Orkney, including:

• Place Plans: Strategic documents developed with local communities to guide the future development, improvement, and use of a specific area.

• Feasibility Studies: Assessments that explore the practicality and potential outcomes of a proposed project, identifying opportunities, challenges, and costs.

• Capacity Building Projects: Initiatives aimed at strengthening the skills, resources, and abilities of individuals or organisations to enable more effective participation, leadership, or project delivery.

In addition, we are inviting organisations to submit Expressions of Interest (EoIs) for capital projects that could be delivered in 2026/27, when £360,000 in capital funding will be available in the first round. From 2027/28 onwards, annual capital funding will increase to approximately £1.6–£1.7 million.

Please note: additional EoI submission windows will open at regular intervals. If your project is not ready at this stage, we encourage you to apply in a future round.

Application Deadlines

• Capital Projects: 22nd September 2025

The Orkney Fund Board will meet shortly after the deadlines to review and approve applications. Successful applicants will be notified by email.
