TERMS & CONDITIONS PAYMENT & REFUND POLICY FOR TUTORING SESSIONS: • Clients who wish to reserve a definite weekly time slot for a one-hour private tutoring session, need to prepay for a set of 4 sessions. During this period, students may elect to cancel or reschedule with no charge, any two of the four sessions – provided they have notified The EDGE, Inc., (The EDGE, Inc.) by 5 P.M. of the previous business day. If the session is cancelled after 5 P.M. of the previous business day or later, the time allocated for that tutoring session will be subject to availability of the tutoring staff. For sessions scheduled after hours or on the weekends, notification of change must be in writing via email at least 24 hours before the session. •Cancellation within this time will result in a forfeiture of the charged full amount. The four hours of tutoring is best used on a one hour per week basis, however, the student may schedule their sessions at their discretion based on availability. There is a minimum of four hours per month per student. Any credit remaining will not be refunded at the end of the one-month period and time does not accumulate month -to-month. • Students, without the commitment described above, may schedule lesson on an “as needed” basis, at the appropriate hourly rate. Payment must be made at the time of scheduling. Once a session is scheduled, THERE WILL BE NO REFUND FOR ANY CANCELLATION. PAYMENT & REFUND POLICY FOR ALL GROUP ENRICHMENT CLASSES, TEST PREPARATION AND SUMMER CAMP: • Full payment for all classes is due at the beginning of each term. In order for The EDGE, Inc. to provide quality educational support at reasonable prices, we cannot allow rescheduling or private refunds for missed group classes. • To reserve a space prior to the start of either the Spring, Summer or Fall terms both pages of this application must be completed in full, signed in the appropriate places and arrangements for payment should be completed by the start of class.• Group Class cancellations will receive a 50% refund if written notification is received 15 days prior to the first day of classes. No refund will be made otherwise. • S.A.T./ACT cancellations will receive a 50% refund if written notification is received 30 days prior to the first day of classes. No refund will be made otherwise. • There is no refund for Summer Camp cancellations. •ALL payments are subject to State and Local Sales taxes.OTHER TERMS & CONDITIONS: •The EDGE, Inc. realizes that life events occur and each cancelation or rescheduled appointment will receive its own independent evaluation by the staff. RULES OF ATTENDANCE:• Our goal is to provide each student with the best educational support through our programs and services. To create an environment that fosters the learning process, the following liberties can be taken by the staff: • The EDGE, Inc., at its sole discretion, may deem a child inappropriate for its program. In such a situation, the child will not be allowed to continue with the program and The EDGE will within 10 business days refund a prorated amount for all unused classes or private sessions. The family will have no recourse other than this refund. • If circumstances arise which prevent the teacher for the group class or individual tutor from meeting at a certain time and day, the family will be credited for that time. • The EDGE, Inc. may choose, due to circumstances that arise, to substitute a different tutor for the private session or a teacher for the group class. The EDGE, Inc. will make every effort to notify the families in advance of such changes. If there is a permanent change in the private tutor, the family may discontinue with the program and will receive a prorated refund for unused sessions. The refund will be made within 10 business days. There is no refund due to a change in teacher for the group classes. • In the event that The EDGE, Inc. deems it necessary to cancel or discontinue a class, the staff’s sole obligation will be to make an appropiate effort to provide the family with a comparable course. In the event this cannot be accomplished; The EDGE will refund any prorated balance within 10 business days. • The total claims of the family, with respect to issues of Professional Liability, will be limited to the amounts paid for the course in question. No claims for refund shall be valid after the completion of the course. By signing below, student’s parents and/or legal guardians acknowledge that no warranty or guarantee, express or implied, is made as to any student’s success or performance on any test or in any other procedure or process designed to assess a student’s intelligence, knowledge and/or academic abilities and hereby waives any such warranty or guarantee existing by operation of law. Student’s parents and/or legal guardians further acknowledge that a student’s failure to perform on any test or in any other procedure or process designed to assess a student’s intelligence, knowledge an/or academic abilities at the level expected shall not constitute a breach of this contract nor any other legally cognizable cause of action against The EDGE, Inc., or any of its Officers, Directors, Employees, Independent Contractors or Agents. Students parents and/or legal guardians hereby release and discharge The EDGE, Inc. its Officers, Directors, Employees, Independent Contractors and Agents from any and all liability for injury and/or damages allegedly arising out of student’s failure to perform at any defined level on any such test or other procedure or process designed to assess a student’s intelligence, knowledge and/or academic abilities.
