A support worker is needed to generally help ensure the smooth and safe running of the sessions and help create a supported atmosphere for participants. Duties include:

· To help set-up at the start of the session, and pack-down at the end

· To assist the facilitator during the sessions

· To accompany any participants if they need space or timeout from the sessions

The workshop will have between 6-8 participants.

These 4 x workshop sessions will involve participants getting together to listen to radio, sounds of nature as well as learning how to make their own soundscapes. There will be some reflective conversations around how the listening activities have made participants feel (e.g. relaxed, curious etc.)

The sessions form part of a research project for the Baths, which is looking at the ways sound might be used as a tool to help us relax and support our mental health. The sessions will be facilitated by Ros Fraser, who is a radio maker and sound artist, working at the Govanhill Baths.

The group discussion activities will be generalised, rather than exploring personal topics. However, the workshops do relate to how we support our mental health and wellbeing. We are asking for the successful support worker to have Mental Health First Aid Training, so that they have the necessary skills to support participants, and accompany them for time-out, should they need it.
