Nesta is working with local authorities to plan clean heat transitions at neighbourhood level — helping councils determine where heat pumps, shared ground loops, or heat networks make most sense, street by street.
We're doing this directly with teams in Midlothian, Dudley, Vale of Glamorgan and Glasgow, using Nesta's planning tool and playbook. To make these plans work in practice, we need to hear from the people who'll help deliver them and the people who'll live with the results.
Our work in Plymouth showed how much value comes from bringing in the broadest mix of stakeholders early. The commitment is flexible: a short form, an email exchange, or joining a single session.
