#FringeQuickies 2026

#FringeQuickies

Welcome to Fringe Quickies 2026, The Quinntessential Review’s bite-sized Fringe preview series.

Last date for submissions: Thursday, 23rd July 2026.

Our Fringe Quickies all live on one big ‘doomscroll’ thread, with new ones added daily from Monday, 29th June 2026 to Thursday, 6th August 2026. All shows are welcome — big ones, small ones, and the kind with a bit of a curve. Last year, we published almost 400 Quickies, so use your words to stand out from the (admittedly huge) crowd.

🎬 How it works 🎬

Part 1: Set the stage with a few basics

Tell us who is filling in the form, the title of your show and a link for readers to learn more. Then tick some boxes about the show. Simple.

Part 2: Time for your Quickie (questions!)

✅ Start with Question 1 — everyone answers this one.

🎲 Then pick any THREE other questions — no more, no less. Just three. Pick them at random. We want each Quickie to feel a little different.

✏️ Keep it short, sharp, and scroll-stopping: each answer has a hard limit of 280 characters max (including spaces).

🏆If you nail your Quickie just right, you can also win… absolutely nothing. We’ll name an audience favourite (most viewed) and our own pick (the one that tickled us most) — something you can quote in your press, drop in your promo, or milk to death for the rest of the Fringe.

What’s new for 2026?

▪️ No EdFringe listing, no problem: We used to require an official EdFringe link to get your show details. This year, we’ve dropped that rule so we can welcome any show, whether it's in the official programme or not! Instead of a link, just tick a few quick boxes to tell us about your show.

▪️ Contact info: Who should we speak to if we want to review your show? You, a PR, your mum—just let us know who to talk to, and how to reach them!

▪️ Paid upgrade: Our "Boosted" option offers even more this year. And since we're publishing more Quickies than ever, there are more slots to go around. Full details in the form.

▪️ Feedback: Optional, but appreciated. Let us know how we’re doing.

Frequently asked questions

What kind of numbers can a Fringe Quickie do?

All Quickies are featured on our ‘doomscroll’ thread, putting you in front of a huge audience scrolling through the daily updates. On top of that general exposure, an individual Quickie can reach views in the high hundreds, or even thousands.

What makes a good Fringe Quickie?

You do. (No, really.) The best ones sound like you — this is not a press release. There’s no single formula, but for inspiration, here are four great examples, each with hundreds, sometimes thousands, of views: https://theqr.co.uk/2025/07/06/fringe-quickies-128-2/ https://theqr.co.uk/2025/07/23/fringe-quickies-319/ https://theqr.co.uk/2025/07/18/fringe-quickies-235-2/ https://theqr.co.uk/2024/07/29/fringe-quickies-200/

My show is very serious - is it appropriate for Fringe Quickies? Yes. Whilst the premise of Fringe Quickies is cheeky, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t subvert the questions and take your entry to surprising destinations.

Will you tag me on socials when my Fringe Quickie goes live?

Sadly, no. (Unless you choose the Boosted option.) Because we publish hundreds of Quickies, tagging everyone manually simply isn’t sustainable. So: keep an eye on the website or 'doomscroll' thread between Monday, 29th June 2026 and Thursday, 6th August 2026 to see your Quickie go live. Which of course you already do, because you’re a massive fan of The Quinntessential Review, right?

When will my Fringe Quickie be published?

All Quickies are published on a rolling, first-come, first-served basis between Monday, 29th June 2026 and Thursday, 6th August 2026. We don’t provide specific publication dates for individual entries. (And sorry, we won’t have time to reply to emails asking!)

Can I submit after the deadline?

Nope, submissions close on Thursday, 23rd July 2026. To keep things fair (and sane), we can’t accept entries after the deadline — not even charmingly apologetic ones. Get it in on time or miss out!

If you publish me, will you review my show?

No. Last year, Fringe Quickies featured nearly 12% of all shows at the Fringe. There’s no way a (small) handful of people could review that many shows! BUT — the reviewing team will read your Quickies, so impressing them is a good idea, right?! (You can now provide details on how we can request review tickets in the form.)

Who should answer the Quickie questions?

Anyone, except your PR! The point of a Quickie is to give readers a taste of your voice and your personality—if it sounds like a press release, you’re doing it wrong.

What is a Boosted Quickie?

Introduced in 2025, this is a paid upgrade for shows looking for an extra lift. Totally optional, it’s a way to get more eyes on your show while supporting the site at the same time. Details in the form.

Does my show have to be in the EdFringe guide?

Not anymore! We used to need that link to pull your show details, but we’ve changed things so you can provide any link you like. Just tick a few boxes to tell us about the show and you’re good to go.

I’m having an issue with the form — what should I do?

Drop us an email at wjquinnreviews@gmail.com with the subject line: “Fringe Quickies form issue”. We’ll try to help where we can
