Who We Are:
Buffalo Undergraduate Consulting Group (BUCG) is a professional consulting club that provides students who are interested in working in the consulting industry with the opportunity to develop important business skills such as analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills through practical hands-on experience.
What You'll Do:
As a Consultant on our client engagement teams, you'll work alongside University at Buffalo's top minds on a case that reshapes a business's strategic decisions. For Project Vestitus, you will be part of a consulting team for
Buffalo Fashion Week.
1. Community Perception & Stakeholder Research - Evaluate how Buffalo Fashion Week is perceived by key stakeholders—including businesses, community organizations, media, educational institutions, and attendees—to identify opportunities for stronger community integration. Conduct surveys and interviews to understand current sentiment, partnership barriers, and areas for improvement.
2. Strategic Partnership Development - Identify and prioritize high-impact partnerships that will expand Buffalo Fashion Week's influence across Western New York. Develop a stakeholder map, recommend the top organizations to pursue, and create outreach strategies that strengthen sponsorship, collaboration, and long-term institutional relationships.
3. Professional Fashion Agency & Institutional Positioning - Design a strategy that transforms Buffalo Fashion Week from an annual event into a professional fashion agency. Recommend community programming, engagement initiatives, and brand positioning that create lasting value for the Buffalo community and establish BFW as a premier cultural organization.
- Be a current University at Buffalo undergraduate student
- Be an official member of the Buffalo Undergraduate Consulting Group (BUCG) (See Aidan for clarification)
- Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA (email Aidan if you are below a 3.0)
The project will run for 7-9 weeks from the project commencement and is an unpaid opportunity. Consultants should be committed and willing to dedicate the required amount of time to ensure a successful deliverable, and will be expected to uphold BUCG standards.
